Shinichi Suzuki says, “I have pledged that from today on I will not be satisfied until I make every one of my students a fine violinist.”
Eric Davenport wants all of his students to be fine violinists. Students in his studio will play well, sound well, and be among the best of violin players.
In addition to advanced Suzuki teacher training through Suzuki Book 8, Eric has taken supplementary specialized Suzuki courses. Check his credentials with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. He holds a Master of Education in Music degree from the University of Georgia. Eric offers students beginning to advanced violin study. Some students begin lessons with him at age 2 1/2. Some as adults.
Because he sees the value of his own participation in Bach and chamber music workshops, he is launching a chamber music group for students from his and several other local studios.
In addition, Eric is convinced of the importance of music from the beginning of life. As Suzuki says, if you start at birth, you are starting 9 months too late! Therefore, he is certified through three levels to teach Suzuki Early Childhood Education for babies and toddlers, the first class of its kind in the Northern Virginia area. His future plans include reaching out to prenatal facilities to present information on the importance of music for the unborn and the newborn.
Eric’s Suzuki Violin studio in Reston serves students in Northern Virginia with easy access from Ashburn, Chantilly, Fairfax, Great Falls, Herndon, Manassas, and Sterling.
